FAF stands for Families and Friends.Â
The SMPS FAF was established in 2020. The FAF are parents, carers and community members who volunteer their time to support SMPS services and fundraising events. We are guided by and supported by the wonderful SMPS staff.
The purpose of the Family and Friends Association is to bring together the school community to engage parents, guardians and friends. It’s primary role is to raise funds for the school through fundraising events. The FAF is open to all members of the SMPS community. It is managed by it’s members, though is overseen by the School Council and supported by a member of the Management Committee.Â
đź’› We need YOU to join the FAF in 2024! If you can help with volunteering at school events, such as Celebration of Learning BBQ, Cake Stalls, Raffles, Second Hand Uniform Shop, or if you have ideas for new events our kids would love, we need you! Â Sign up forms are available from the Office - sign up now and you can be more involved with SMPS activities!
Members of Families & Friends extend a heartfelt thank you to the sponsors, the donors, the SMPS Staff & Teachers, & YOU…… the SMPS Community!
Â
You baked for the Cake-Stall; you donated food & drinks, accessories & equipment for the barbeque, & financial support; you volunteered your time, efforts, & enthusiasm; & then you purchased the cakes, the food, & the drinks during a wonderfully ideal sunny autumn afternoon.
Â
From a fundraising point of view; it was our most successful event yet, as we just exceeded a marvelous milestone of $4500!

Make new friends within the SMPS community and keep in touch on an informal basis.
Doug, a FAF member, oversees 'SMPS Friends' - an informal WhatsApp chat group of around 350 past, present and prospective parents and carers across all grades at SMPS.
Â
There are also separate 'grade specific' informal WhatsApp chat groups for Preps; Grade 1; Grade 2; Grade 3; Grade 4; Grades 5 & Grade 6 separately. These 'grade specific' chat groups are for the parents/carers of current students only.
Â
If you have recently joined SMPS, or are a current or prospective parent/carer, and would like to join any of the informal chat groups, please contact Doug via WhatsApp, or via SMS on phone # 0437 351 194.
Â
‼️ Please note: These informal chat groups are completely independent of SMPS teachers and staff. You should continue to rely on Compass News Feeds and the SMPS newsletter for SMPS information.
