School Council

School Council held its Annual General Meeting on 28th March and welcomed new parent members Paula Bateson, Nadia Cooke and Marian Toss, and staff members Georgia Prince and Laura Fisher. Thank you for nominating to become new members joining Tim Sheedy, Davor Stanic, Suzy Sagar, Rebecca Scott, and staff Luisa Kalenjuk and Robyn Owens. 

The following officer bearers were elected: 

President – Kellie Marks 

Deputy President – Davor Stanic and Rebecca Scott 

Treasurer – Ed Rutherford 

Secretary – Suzy Sagar 

School Council has already had a really busy year with work to interview and select our new School After Care provider through Term 1 and now a new principal. This meeting was the last with Jenny. I am sure she won’t miss these night time meetings! It was however great to spend some time with Jenny and past and present school council members following the AGM.

We have commenced the process to appoint a new principal and this will happen over Term 2. The aim is to have our new principal with us for the start of Term 3. It is a huge responsibility that I and all the school council are feeling. It is also a time of uncertainty for our school but I am confident we will ensure we find a leader to take those elements that are great about our school and build on them further. 

With a new Council comes a time to think about our direction for the next year. We will be having a think about where we go with our buildings and grounds over the coming months and where the focus of our lobbying and fundraising should be.
