Year 2/3
Year 2 /3 have settled in well to Term Two. They are enjoying their new novel “Charlotte’s Web” by EB White. So far they have been introduced to engaging vocabulary as well as some interesting characters.
In Mathematics, the children have been exploring fractions by making a fractions wall, and segmenting a whole into halves, thirds, quarters, sixths, eighths, and tenths. They have also examined modelling and representing fractions on a number line.
Outcomes:
EN1-REFLU-01 sustains reading unseen texts with automaticity and prosody and self-corrects errors
EN2-REFLU-01 sustains independent reading with accuracy, automaticity, rate and prosody suited to purpose, audience and meaning
MA2-PF-01 represents and compare halves, quarters, thirds and fifths as lengths on a number line and their related fractions formed by halving (eighths, sixths and tenths)
