Welcome to Term Two!
Term one flew past at an alarming rate and here we are settled into another busy term! Last term ended on a high note with our Easter presentation and of course the Easter raffle! The children have settled back into the routine of school quickly and are working beautifully.
This term we welcome Mrs Lisa Baker to our classroom. Lisa will be working with us each day until recess. Mrs Millar steps in after recess for 1 ½ hours. We are very lucky having such wonderful support in our room!
This term we are working with Maddy, Kristopher, Charlotte and Connor as they prepare to receive the sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist later in May. Please keep these children in your prayers as they continue on their faith journey.
Our major focus this term is on sustainability. We will be looking at plants and animals in our environment and the habitats that they live in. We will look closely at endangered animals and the reasons behind their endangerment. Our work will include looking at how we can look after our own environment. We will be reading about it, writing about it and researching new information about it! We are also thanking God for this wonderful world in our unit on God’s creation!
We are very excited about our visits with the Galen students this term. They have already visited us once and have given us a few tips about how to research that worldwide web. We learnt about some endangered animals from around the world.
With the help of Mr Kelly, they also helped us resurrect the garden. Hopefully we will have it tidied up and back in action very soon. We are looking forward to planting some winter veggie's!
Don’t hesitate to contact us if you wish to discuss anything (except AFL football – I am a Kangaroos supporter!) This can be done through messages on class dojo or via email.
