Prayer
5th Sunday of Easter
During Catholic Education Week, we give thanks for the education we are privileged to receive in Australia. We look forward, with hope and faith, to our future that is full of new beginnings and our chance to shine.
Central to Catholic education in Sandhurst is our faith in Jesus Christ. As we live out the mission of the church, we are called to nurture the best within one another and reflect our Gospel values. As we flourish alongside creation, we know that the Good News of Jesus Christ is alive and well!
There are new beginnings everywhere, all around us in creation and our world. If you look with loving eyes, you will see new life emerging from tree branches, in the deep blue sea, amongst the magnificent stars and crawling beneath
the soil under our feet.
All: Loving God, Help us see new life everywhere.
There is new life everywhere, in the playground, as we learn, when we struggle to understand new things, when we form loving communities at school, when we laugh along with our friends and when we rest in Jesus’ presence.
All: Loving God, Help us see new life everywhere.
There is new life everywhere, in very dark places where love has dissipated, in those moments when individuals experience extreme injustice and cruelty, during times when individuals use their power over others to cause homelessness, confusion and loss.
All: Loving God, Help us see new life everywhere.
God of love, during this Catholic Education Week, deepen our awareness of how lucky we are to be able to learn and grow.
God of love, help us in Catholic education to become people of justice who strive to achieve dignity for all.
God of love, help us use what we have learnt at school to better our lives and the lives of others in need.
Amen
