Year 3

Mother's Day Picnic

Despite overcast conditions and the threat of rain, many Mums and Grandmas came to school for the Mothers' Day picnic today. Some came with picnic rugs, others with hot food or special food, to share with their child or children. Thank you for coming to school today to share in the celebration for our special Mums!

Year 3 Healesville Sanctuary Excursion

A reminder that Year 3 students will be visiting Healesville Sanctuary on Friday 24th May. Students will be asked to be at school at 8.30am, and bring with them lunch, snack and drink bottle in a small back pack. We will arrive back at school in time for a 3.30pm pick up.

The cost for this excursion is $40 and is due on Sunday 19th May. Payment and permission is made on Compass.

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.

Homework Expectations and Reading

A friendly reminder that it is an expectation in Year 3 that fortnightly homework is completed, signed by parents as having sighted the completed homework and your child knows when to hand it in on time. A list of what is expected can be found in the front of each student's homework book.

Reading is part of the homework expectations each fortnight. We are asking all students to record their nightly reading in their diary, under the date they have read (please list name of book, minutes spent reading, and a parent/guardian sign it off). This will be checked each fortnight when homework is due. We ask that diaries come to school each day please.

Late Sign In

We have had a few incidents of parents calling the school at the beginning of the day, saying their child has been marked as absent. It is incredibly important that if your child gets to school after the second bell (9:00am), then a parent or guardian signs the students in at the office.

Year 4

Camp

We have had an awesome time at camp this week! The students will be tired out from all the amazing activities we have completed. On the first night they had a Trivia Night with Miss Nguyen and Mr Sadler as master of ceremonies. On the second night they enjoyed a rotation of events which included; cooking marshmallows at the fire pit, playing games in the stadium with Mr Walsh and enjoying the night walk.

We would like to say thank you to everyone who came along to support the children. Special thanks to Allison, Ishita, Megan and Harry who were the wonderful parents who came along. Also thank you to Daniella who also was an amazing helper.

Mr Souter, Mr Sadler, Mrs Caldarelli, Mr Dahlenburg, Miss Nguyen, Mr Walsh, Mr Wastie and Mrs Strachan were very proud of the students as they were all very well mannered and were determined to try new experiences.
