Curriculum Day

We have a planned curriculum day for Wednesday June 12th. The kinder will be closed on this day. The staff will be participating in a full day of professional development. We are using our School Readiness Funding to learn about Trauma informed practices and Attachment Theory with psycholanalytic psychiatrist and consultant Therese Raulin. We are looking forward to doing this learning all together as a team and implementing what we learn.

National Simultaneous Storytime 2024

On Wednesday 22nd May we will be participating in the National Simultaneous Storytime. The story that will be read this year is Bowerbird Blues by Aura Parker. National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, kindergartens, family day cares, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. It is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes.

Picture Plates Fundraiser

Our Picture Plate Fundraiser is coming to an end.  Thank you to all the families who have purchase plates.  Please return your orderforms and your childrens drawings by Tuesday 14th May to your child's teacher.

Pre-Service Teacher

We are very lucky to currently have a Pre-Service teacher with us at the moment.   Lili is studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at Victorian University.  Lili will be shadowing Jacqui in Waratah and Naomi in Banksia from now until the 14th of June.  The children already enjoy having Lili helping them out!  I know you will all make her feel welcome here at VPSK.

Congratulations to Megan & Matt

Last Thursday our amazing educator, Megan married her lovely partner Matt!  It was a spectacular day.  Megan made for a beautiful bride and we are so incredibly happy for her!

Matt has been a great help here at kinder at times, cutting down tables, fixing things and he has promised to put together some cubbies here at kinder soon.  So he is pretty handy to keep around!

Congratulation Megan and Matt from all of us here at VPSK!!!
