From the Principals

Information from Mrs Mann, Mrs Cook and Mrs Strachan

Welcome to the 2nd newsletter for Term 2! With much chillier mornings, it is a good time to give a general reminder to all families that it is very important to ensure that all jackets and coats are clearly named. Schools generate an enormous amount of 'lost property' (although, 'temporarily relocated property' is probably more accurate!) and it is almost impossible to return items to their rightful owner if they are un-named. Please see the below message from Ms. Guye who is taking care of our Lost Property at the moment.

Attitude to School Survey

Information has gone home to parents of students in Years 4, 5 and 6 about the annual Student Attitudes to School Survey. Please ensure that you read this important update and don't hesitate to speak with your child's teacher or a member of the Leadership team if you have any questions.

Mother's Day Stall

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the Community Network for their planning, purchasing the gifts and organising the days of the stall. We had many additional helpers too.

Below are some photos of our amazing parents/grandparents that assisted throughout the week.

Medication at school

We are so fortunate to have a nurse at school, and I am sure many of you have come into contact with or had phone calls or messaged from Mrs Burchell. One job that Mrs Burchell does every day is administer medications to students who require them. This ensures that it is done safely, and that the medication is stored correctly during the day. We remind all families that if your child is currently taking any medication during the day, this must be handed to the office to be managed. Students cannot keep medications in their bag to administer themselves (aside from Asthma inhalers which students should have a plan for usage). Even if the medication is herbal in nature, please do not leave these in bags or lunchboxes as it may present a risk for both your own child, and others. Our medication policies can be found on our website if you need more information.

New Parking Restrictions

We have received notification from the Whitehorse City Council that they will be extending the 'No Stopping' restrictions on the western side of Nurlendi Road from 2:30-4pm, to now also include mornings. There will now be 'No Stopping' regulations in this area to improve traffic congestion and safety. Signage around this, as well as an increased council presence will be installed in the coming days. The image below shows where the new restrictions will be coming into effect.

We would like to round things off with wishing all the Vermont Primary School Mother's and special people a wonderful Mother's Day this weekend. We hope you all enjoy a day of rest and relaxation, and that your children take extra good care of you!

Have a great weekend,

Jess, Joy & Jacci
