YEAR 11 NEWS

This week, Wyndham College proudly joins schools and communities across Australia in recognising National Reconciliation Week. The 2026 theme, “ALL IN”, reminds us that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility. The theme encourages all Australians to actively contribute to building respectful relationships, understanding truth-telling, and creating a more united future together. It is a call for each of us to step forward, listen, learn and participate in meaningful action toward reconciliation.
As part of this important week, students from Wyndham College will join with our wider Nirimba Education Precinct community, including SJP11 and Nirimba TAFE, for the Nirimba Education Precinct Reconciliation Week Service.
The event will be held in the Hall and will provide an opportunity for students and staff to come together in reflection, learning and connection. Events such as these strengthen the partnerships across our precinct and help build understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and perspectives.
As we move further into the term, I would also like to remind Year 11 students and families that the next assessment block will take place during Weeks 10 and 11. Students should now be carefully planning their study schedules, checking assessment notifications and seeking support from teachers if needed. Consistent attendance and preparation are essential as we approach this important stage of the semester.
Our next Parent Teacher Evening will be held on Tuesday 30 June from 3:30pm – 6:00pm. This is an excellent opportunity for parents and carers to discuss student progress, ask questions and work in partnership with teachers to support learning. Information regarding bookings will be emailed to parents and carers once the booking portal opens.
There is also plenty to look forward to across the college in the coming weeks. I am especially excited for Multicultural Day and the opportunity to celebrate the diversity that makes Wyndham College such a vibrant and inclusive community. I encourage all students to get involved whether through performances, cultural dress, food or activities. These are the moments students often remember long after school has finished, and they help create the strong sense of belonging we value at Wyndham.
Finally, CAPA Night is also fast approaching. It promises to be another fantastic showcase of the incredible talent, creativity and dedication of our students across Creative and Performing Arts. I encourage families to bring along the whole family for what is always a wonderful evening of entertainment and celebration of student achievement.
Thank you to all students, staff and families for continuing to contribute positively to our Wyndham College community.
