YEAR 12 NEWS

As we approach the upcoming 3rd assessment block, we would like to wish all Year 12 students the very best in their assessments. This is an important stage of the HSC year and we encourage students to remain organised, prepared, and proactive in seeking support when needed.
Students are reminded to carefully check all assessment notifications and ensure they are aware of task requirements, due dates, and examination conditions. For take-home tasks, all work must be submitted before 8:00am on the due date unless otherwise advised by the classroom teacher.
If a student is absent on the day of an in-class assessment task or examination, it is essential that families contact the school as soon as possible and communicate directly with the classroom teacher, Head Teacher, or Deputy Principal. Students may also be required to complete an Illness/Misadventure Form, which can be collected from the Front Office.
Academic Integrity
As we enter the assessment period, this is also a timely reminder regarding academic honesty and malpractice. The honesty of students in completing assessment tasks, examinations, and course work underpins the integrity of the Preliminary HSC and HSC. All work submitted for assessment purposes must be the independent work of the student concerned.
Students must appropriately acknowledge any material sourced from books, journals, websites, artificial intelligence technologies, or other resources in accordance with NESA requirements. Academic dishonesty in any form is unacceptable and may include plagiarism, collusion, misrepresentation, cheating, or breaches of assessment conditions.
Examples of malpractice may include:
- Copying another student’s work
- Using material from the internet without acknowledgement
- Sharing answers during assessments
- Receiving substantial assistance from others
- Unauthorised use of artificial intelligence technologies
- Submitting falsified documentation or false explanations regarding late work
Students who knowingly assist others in malpractice may also be considered complicit.
NESA requires all students to complete the HSC: All My Own Work program to support students in understanding ethical scholarship practices and the importance of academic integrity.
At Wyndham College, any proven case of malpractice is treated seriously and may result in penalties including:
- A mark of zero for the task
- A non-attempt determination
- Additional assessment requirements
- An ‘N’ Determination Warning
- Placement on the NESA Malpractice Register
Parents and carers will be notified of any confirmed cases of malpractice. Students who are unsure about referencing, collaboration expectations, or assessment requirements are strongly encouraged to speak with their classroom teacher before submitting work.
This information is contained in the Year 12 Assessment Booklet for 2026, which can be found on our school website. All students were issued a copy of this in Term 4 of 2025.
N-Warnings & Coursework
Students are also reminded that as assessments are completed and coursework continues, it is important to remain up to date with all course requirements to avoid receiving N-Warnings. Students should regularly check with their teachers regarding any outstanding coursework or assessment concern.
Multicultural Day
Finally, Multicultural Day is coming up soon! We encourage students and families to keep an eye on the school’s social media pages for further information and event updates. We
look forward to celebrating the diversity and culture of our wonderful school community together. My thanks to Angela Gazi, Anjani Bachu and the SRC for the organisation that is going into this.
