Year 11 Modern and Ancient History students continue work on their Historical Investigation in the library, their second major assessment task for the year. To support their research, we’ve created a new book display featuring titles based on true stories — a mix of nonfiction, biographies, and historically inspired narratives that help students connect real events and real people with the stories they tell.
This display encourages students to explore both non‑fiction and biographies as part of their investigation. Many of these works offer powerful insights into lived experiences, historical turning points, and the human stories behind major events. Students are also reminded that they can enrich their research with a wide range of sources, including primary sources and secondary sources such as books, articles, documentaries, films, and podcasts.

Our Year 11 Study Skills sessions have recently been centred on Writing Skills. Students are learning how to unpack and respond effectively to syllabus‑based questions using the NESA verbs and the ALARM scaffold. These tools help students structure their responses, build stronger arguments, and demonstrate deeper understanding of HSC questions.
By combining wide reading, critical thinking, and structured writing strategies, Year 11 students are developing the essential skills of senior students — inquiry, analysis, evaluation, and clear communication. The library is proud to support their learning journey and looks forward to seeing their learning take shape.

A reminder to all students about expectations during timetabled study sessions between recess and lunch:
We encourage all students to make the most of the Library spaces this term and look forward to seeing you.
