St Roch’s School theme 2026:
"United in Faith, Sharing the Light"
Dear Families,
Welcome to Issue 7 for 2026 of our iNewsletter! We hope this newsletter continues to keep you up to date with all the news, events and learning that happens at St Roch's.
The Festival of our Mothers!
Congratulations to all our mothers and special women in our lives and to Jess Mount who organised a lovely lunch with so many in attendance. The smiles in this photo tell it all.
Mother's day - We hope your Mother's day was special!
Nourish and Flourish: A Celebration of Strength
It was an absolute joy to see so many familiar and inspiring faces in our hall and in our classrooms last Friday for our Mother's Day Breakfast. The theme as Sandy Arthur & Mairin Chevaux aptly named the event, Nourish and Flourish captured the profound cycle of love and growth that defines our school community.
When we talk about nourishment, we often think of the meals prepared, the band-aids applied on our children or the bedtime stories read at home. At St Roch's we see the deeper nourishment you provide our students every single day and the incredible work you do every single day.
It is the way you know exactly what is wrong with your child before a word is even spoken. It is the "you can do it" whispered before a big event or the hug that makes a bad day feel like a distant memory.
We see your love every day in our hallways, in the student who has the courage to be kind to a lonely friend, in the confidence of a child who knows they have a safe place to go to at home and in the contagious laughter that fills our playground and our school.
This does not happen by accident. Our students flourish because they are loved by you all.
Sincere thanks
Whether you are Mum, Matka, Mère, 母亲, Mummy, Ibu, Nanna, Nonna, Grandma, Yia Yia, Grand-mère, Babcia, Aunty or a carer, you are the backbone of this community and we love having your presence in our school.
Thank you to our staff who presented their classrooms to you on Friday. Sincere thanks to Sandy and Mairin, their Year 2 Team - too many to name and to Dave and Will for their photography.
The hall was transformed into a space that felt warm and comforting, the food was delicious and nourishing, the Year Prep singing entertained us wholeheartedly ensuring we were all immersed in this great event.
A blessing for all the special women in our life.....................
May you find a moment of peace to realise how much you matter.
May you feel the same warmth you give so freely to everyone else.
May you know that the love you pour into these children is the greatest gift they will every receive.
May you be nourished in return and the kindness you pour into others returns to you in unexpected ways filling your cup as well.
And may you always see your own reflection in the flourishing lives of those you love, knowing that your influence is a light that will always shine.
Swimming Carnival
Congratulations to Marjie King for planning such a smooth and exciting Swimming Carnival today. The timing of the Novelty events, freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke and various Novelty events was excellent and our students encouraged each other throughout the day. Thank you to our parents and staff who assisted with the various roles.
Congratulations to all our House Teams, Bracken, Murtagh and of course Loughnan who were able to win the event today with 319 points coming 1st. Bracken came 2nd with 313 points and Murtagh 3rd with 252 points.
