Year Ones Meet the m-Tiny Robots (AKA Panda-bots)

Last week, our new m-Tiny robots made their appearance in classes with the Year One students being the first to try out these cute little critters. The students had a blast learning the basics of controlling the robots using the joystick and coding cards. These robots were purchased with funds raised from last year’s Bogan Bingo Fundraiser, and they will provide valuable learning opportunities for our junior school children for years to come.

Science Talent Search

Students are now hard at work on their STS projects. This year, we have students working across several categories of this competition including Picture Story Books, Science Videos, Experiments, Inventions and Games. We can’t wait to see their finished projects at the end of Term 2!

STEM Materials - Donations Wanted

One of the key ideas behind STEM is designing and making solutions to solve problems. This involves students using their understanding of science to make models and invent things. Our STEM program would really appreciate donations of the following clean items to help our students in the next few months as they complete different projects. Items can be sent along with your child.

  • Shoe boxes
  • Large and small soft drink bottles with lids (cleaned)
  • Milk bottles and lids (cleaned)
  • Cardboard tubes (not toilet rolls)
  • Small cereal or biscuit boxes
  • Cornstarch packing peanuts (the dissolving type)
  • Old CDs
  • PVC plumbing pipe offcuts (large enough for marbles to run down)
  • Clean plastic shopping bags
  • Glass jars with matching lids
  • Egg cartons (must be clean)

Please contact Ms Patel for more information about our school STEM program.

Thank you for supporting your students in their work!
