National Simultaneous Storytime
On Wednesday, 22nd May, students took part in National Simultaneous Storytime. Every year, a picture book written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator is read simultaneously across the country. The event is held online, and this year, staff and students read "Bowerbird Blues" by Aura Parker together.
Catholic Schools Week
On Tuesday, 28th May, we celebrated Catholic Schools Week. It was great to see families join us for a shared lunch, open classroom, prayer and special assembly.
#whatarewelearning
This Semester in the Stage 1 space, the students are completing a unit in science called Living World. The focus of this unit is on the features of living things, their environment and how they change.
Over the term, the students have been investigating why animals need shelter, food, and somewhere to keep their families. They have learnt that animals live in different places because they need different food, shelter and protection.
In groups, students were then asked to design a bird feeder. They had to research different feeders and what types of bird feeders are suited to which birds. They then created their own bird feeders. Here are some pictures of the final products.
