Our School Council met on Monday evening and it was a great chance to hear from our Sub-committees;
School Council Sub-committees
The School Council of Essendon North Primary School has a set of Sub-committees that meet throughout the term to support the ongoing educational improvements within the school community. Below outlines each Sub-committee, its members and the overall structure of each meeting.
Finance Sub-committee: all things finance at ENPS, bank statements, reconciliations, P&L and budgets.
Convenor: Josh Briggs-Kelly
Members: Mert Kavas, Alice McKenzie, Alice Stephens, Kate Barletta, Darcy Wynd
Meets: The week before School Council meetings.
Continuous Improvement/Policies Sub-committee: reviewing and updating local policies and procedures, such as the Child Safety Policy.
Convenor: Ben Suter
Members: Alice Stephens, Alice McKenzie, Darcy Wynd, Jodie Kelly
Meets: Tuesday mornings, meetings are generally based on the policy review cycle.
Learning Environments Sub-committee: classroom and school grounds such as new student and staff toilets, basketball resurfacing, play spaces and helping hands days.
Convenor: Jodie Elliot
Members: Chrissy Purcell, Kate Barletta, Mahmoud Amirgholi, Josh Briggs-Kelly
Meets: Approximately once every couple of School Council meetings. Next meeting Monday 17th June 6:30pm on webex.
Community Engagement Sub-committee: connecting the ENPS community and organising fundraising events.
Convenor: Mahmoud Amirgholi
Members: Jenny Dinh, Jodie Elliot, Ben Suter, Kate Barletta
Meets: Thursday mornings when timely for school events.
School Council values participation and engagement from the ENPS school community. If you have been thinking of getting involved but are not sure how, it's not too late to join a Sub-committee! ENPS Trivia Night
Our Community Engagement Sub-committee is busy arranging the details of the upcoming ENPS Trivia Night! The venue for the event will be Laila Reception in Brunswick, thank you for all the donations already provided. We are still on the lookout for more prizes - if you are able to source donations from your contacts please let the office know via email at essendon.north.ps@education.vic.gov.au. We hope to see as many of our (adult) family members join us on this fun night! Thank you for your ongoing support.
