Zones of Regulation in Foundation - The Yellow Zone!

As part of our wellbeing learning experiences, Foundation students have been learning about ‘The Zones of Regulation’. There are four Zones; Green, Yellow, Blue and Red, and they all connect to different feelings and emotions. The Yellow Zone learning has been a favourite. Students know that when they are in The Yellow Zone they can feel different things, these could include; worried, anxious, silly, excited, stressed, frustrated … or even just a little big wiggly!

Students made beautiful worry dolls, using a peg and different art materials. The idea is to share their worries with their doll, pop it under their pillow and their doll will do all the worrying while they sleep! Connecting to the story, ‘Silly Billy’ by Anthony Brown was a lovely way to connect to the yellow zone and to worry dolls, making authentic links to this learning.

Check out our worry dolls - they are a wonderful way to take our worries away!
