Flourishing Learners

Last week, Elise Rimington and I attended the Eastern Region's "Flourishing Learners School Improvement  Learning Collaborative," at The Round in Nunawading. This was a day where leaders from Catholic Schools in the Eastern Region gathered to discuss our shared Vision For Instruction (see previous weeks' newsletter for information on this)

Simon Breakspear presented to all leaders about the Vision for Instruction, Cognitive Principles, Explicit Instruction and having a shared vision among all MACS schools.

Simon Breakspear is an educational leader, researcher and renowned speaker on evidence-based practice and educational change. We worked together to look at Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction, as well as how to reduce Cognitive Load for our students.

At the end of the day we came up with a goal in the area of Maths, which we will be sharing with our staff in the near future. We are working towards Excellence in Performance by 2030 in all MACS schools.
