Term 2 - Willy Kids are Learners

Week 5 & 6 : Problem Solvers

Willy Kids are Problem Solvers

In the classroom, we are often faced with questions, activities and problems that are difficult for us to solve. Sometimes this makes us feel uncertain and anxious as the learning is not ‘easy’. We are often faced with obstacles and can sometimes feel confused because we do not know the answer to a question, or how to solve a problem. Jumping in, ‘having a go’ and  testing and experimenting to find solutions, take courage and persistence. Learning from the mistakes we make along the way will help develop deeper learning and teach the skills needed to apply to other situations when we are faced with problems.

Willy Kids solve problems by:

* being resourceful

* being resilient and embracing our mistakes

* using a growth mindset

* asking ourselves what else we can do

* trying different approaches

* asking for help

* reflecting on our progress

* being open-minded to other ideas

* working together
