Independence Centre

Highlight

This week, the Independence Centre went to Scienceworks on an excursion for Guided Inquiry!

Here are some of the things we did when we arrived there…

We all had so much fun at all the stations but my personal favourite is Sportsworks; here’s why... At Sportsworks we did so many activities including a VR wheelchair inclusive racing activity, racing against Cathy Freeman and even rock climbing! Adding on to that, there were so many activities to test your skills for example being a goalkeeper and pressing the red glowing buttons as fast as we can to test how fast the nerves in your eyes react.

At Think Ahead, we did things including robot games. We tried to beat robots against timed activities, played interactive VR sustainability games and made our own badges.

At Blast Off, we sat down to watch a marvellous show! It was booming with colour and light. We watched a wonderful show about going to Mars. Some of the students and teachers even got a chance to go up on stage to do some experiments! We tested lots off different things like balloons, water guns and an explosive reaction!

This week in Maths, we have been creating maps for our guided inquiry showcase. We added a key and symbols including toilets, first aid, guided inquiry topics and more. Some of us even added Cartesian planes.
