BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED

NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK

NOW MORE THAN EVER

Here at South Melbourne Park Primary School, we acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, the Bunurong People of the Kulin Nation, and pay respect to elders past and present.

Now More Than Ever we have the opportunity to learn from our past and work toward reconciliation to acknowledge, celebrate, and listen to the First Nations Peoples who have known these lands for tens of thousands of years.

This week our classrooms have continued to learn about Reconciliation and engage in meaningful activities to contribute to their understanding.  We would like to thank Rachel Azzopardi for her leadership in this area, and her time spent coordinating resources for our staff and students to access to assist their understanding.

PREP NEWS

You will be impressed that Preps are beginning to write simple sentences. We have been focusing on thinking of our ideas, how many words in the sentence and the order of words. You will see some great attempts at spelling words with their knowledge of letter sound relationships. Some words are underlined in certain colours. This highlights grammar in terms of verbs and nouns (who, where and what). We are proud of every single Prep student and their writing journey!
