At our recent school assembly, we were proud to recognise the outstanding efforts of our students in swimming, athletics and cross country. It was wonderful to see students celebrated for their hard work and commitment, whether they were placing in events or simply giving their best effort. These awards highlight the determination and resilience our students bring to all areas of sport.
Congratulations to all award recipients!
Our Year 9 students have been keeping active both in sports classes and during their break times. Whether it’s on the basketball court, the oval, lifing weights, skipping or simply kicking a ball around with friends, their enthusiasm for staying fit and having fun is clear to see.
In sports lessons, students have been participating with energy and determination, building their skills while also learning about teamwork and fair play. It’s been fantastic to see so many of them giving their best effort and encouraging one another.
Outside of class, Year 9 students are just as active. Break times are buzzing with friendly games, laughter, and plenty of movement as students take every opportunity to stay engaged and connected.
Our Year 9 students recently had the exciting opportunity to spend a full day in Melbourne, exploring all that the city has to offer. With a very early 6:30 am departure, the students set off with plenty of energy and anticipation for the day ahead.
The group split into two for the morning activities: half visited the Melbourne Zoo, where they were able to see incredible animals up close and learn about conservation efforts, while the other half spent their time at an amazing place called Metart - a 2,500 square metre art space that displays giant models, made 100% from scrap.
In the afternoon, students were given the challenge of completing City Selfie Bingo, a fun and interactive way to navigate the city, discover landmarks, and work together in teams to capture the best shots. Laughter, creativity, and a little friendly competition filled the streets of Melbourne.
After a big day of walking, exploring, and learning, the buses made a dinner stop on the way home, giving everyone a chance to recharge. Students arrived back at school around 8:30pm, tired but full of memories from an unforgettable excursion.
The Year 9 Melbourne trip was a fantastic experience that combined education, adventure, and teamwork, and one that will surely be remembered for years to come!

We are so proud to congratulate our Year 9 boys Beau, Kobe, Robbie and Tanner on their incredible achievement of winning the Men's B grade basketball grand final. The boys showed fantastic teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the season, and their hard work has truly paid off.
The grand final was an exciting and close match, with the team giving it their all right until the very end.
On Thursday 11st September, our school community joined thousands of Australians in recognising R U OK? Day. This important initiative encourages everyone to pause and check in with those around them by asking a simple but powerful question: “Are you OK?”
R U OK? Day reminds us that starting a conversation can make a real difference in someone’s life. It’s not about having all the answers, but about showing care, listening without judgment, and letting people know they’re not alone.
To mark the day, students and staff came together for some special activities. There was a lively staff versus student basketball game that had everyone cheering, a tasty sausage sizzle enjoyed by all, and even some great music thanks to Kody for bringing along his decks andDJing for the crowd. The atmosphere was full of energy, laughter, and connection.
