Year 4

Year 4 Week 9

Year 4 has been busy with many things over the last few weeks.

We have been dancing in the hall every Thursday afternoon to improve our skills. The students have loved it and have been very enthusiastic.

Our Art has also been fun and we have made many interesting artworks such as Fish, rivers and leaves.

Year 4 has also been writing a narrative about the Great Barrier Reef to connect to our English Text ‘ The Thing about Oliver’. This was a great narrative about a boy named Oliver with Autism. The students really connected to this story and we were able to make many correlations in their lives regarding resilience and empathy. Here are some story starters from 4Y. I wonder where they will end up?

Today was the same as any other day, it was Friday so I got up and went downstairs for breakfast. I walked down the steep stairs to our kitchen and found my older brother, Rae sitting on the most uncomfortable chair. I almost thought this was a dream in all the years I've known him, he's never sat on that chair. It's made of metal and has a spiky bit that pops out and pricks you on your back. By Amelia

I woke up today and I felt something on my back, it felt…wet. Of course, I forgot to turn the heater off. I bounce out of bed and grab a towel out of the cupboard and turn the shower on. After I finished my shower I  put my school clothes on. “LEXI WHAT DO YOU WANT ON YOUR SANDWICH?” screamed Luna. By Phoebe

I was driving home from school. When I got home, I was tired but then my Dad as soon as he got in the house, he rushed to his bedroom. I didn't know what he was doing until my sister Lilly came up to me and said ”Jervin hurry up and pack.” I was confused but I started to pack for some reason. My Mum came into my room and said that we are going to the Great Barrier Reef. My jaw dropped, I asked ”Are we going by ourselves or with friends?” “No, we are going with your friends Hugo and Johnny. By Jervin

Year 4 wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday. We can’t believe we only have one term left of Year 4. Where has the time gone?
