The Big Freeze

THE BIG FREEZE

Northcote High School is proud to announce our very own Big Freeze event, inspired by the AFL’s iconic fundraiser, to support the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Taking place on Friday, June 6 out the front of A-block this event will bring our school community together for a day of fun, courage, and charitable spirit.

On the day, we’ll be running a fun lunchtime event featuring a sausage sizzle and a dunk tank, where brave teachers will be dunked into icy water - all to raise funds and awareness for Fight MND and the incredible work they do. This has been made possible thanks to the support of the Nelson Alexander Northcote team who are sponsoring the event.

The fun part is YOU will be voting for what teachers you want to see get plunged into icy water. A handful of brave teachers have already come forward as volunteers for this community event and the next step is for you to vote which ones go down. As you choose a teacher you can leave a donation next to their name. The teachers with the highest money next to their name will be dunked.

Furthermore, we're thrilled to welcome Bob Murphy, former AFL great and much-loved media personality, as our MC for the event. Bob will help us lead the charge as staff take the icy plunge to raise awareness and funds for MND research.

So far you can vote for the following brave teachers who have volunteered:

Kurt Strachan KSR

Riley Boyce RBY

Cindy Huynh CHY

Luke Della Zuanna LDA

Georgia Mckay GMC

Erin Gogerly EGO

Michael Waiser MWA

Jo Gerantidis JGE

Lauren Hutson LHT

In the meantime, keep an eye out for more details on how to support and donate – or even nominate someone to take the plunge!  Families will get a notification of how they can donate via Compass, too.
