Northcote High Leadership

Northcote High Leadership

On Friday and Tuesday, the Junior and Senior Leadership Teams came together to reflect on Term 1 and plan for an exciting Term 2 ahead. These meetings were a great opportunity for us to connect, share feedback, and build stronger connections with other student leaders across year levels.

We reflected on the events of Term 1, including our whole-school assembly. We discussed what went well and what we could improve on in future assemblies and events. It was great to work alongside other students who are just as passionate about making Northcote High the best it can be.

Looking forward, we’ve got some exciting events in the pipeline! In semester two, the leadership team will proudly lead events such as NAIDOC Week, The World’s Greatest Shave, and Pyjama Day. Stay tuned for more information.

New Leadership Initiatives

We’re also thrilled to announce the launch of several exciting initiatives designed to boost student voice and create a more connected school community.

Lunch with a Principal

After receiving feedback that there was a gap between student leaders and school leadership, we’ve introduced a new monthly program called Lunch with a Principal. This initiative allows students to sit down with members of the executive team to share concerns, offer ideas, and strengthen positive relationships in a relaxed setting.

Lead and Feed

Led by our amazing Year 9 leaders and supported by the full leadership team, Lead and Feed is a monthly student forum held on the first Friday of every month in the hall. It’s an open, welcoming space where any student can drop in to raise ideas, ask questions, or talk about school life. It’s all about honest conversations and making every student feel heard.

Teach the Teacher

We’re also launching Teach the Teacher in partnership with VicSRC. This student-led program gives us the chance to work directly with our teachers to improve learning and school culture. Through respectful dialogue and collaboration, we aim to make classrooms more inclusive, engaging, and student focused.
