Reminding families that the School Saving Bonus (SSB) and CSEF funds are available to assist with school payments.
School Saving Bonus – Reminder to allocate your funds before 30 June 2025
The Victorian Government is delivering the School Saving Bonus (SSB) – a one-off support of $400 for eligible government school students from Prep to Year 12 in 2025.
The SSB can be used for uniforms and textbooks until Monday 30 June 2025.
Any funds remaining after 30 June 2025, including online voucher amounts that have not been redeemed, will become a credit to use on school activities.
However, the credit will not be available on your family account at our school until late July. To use any remaining SSB funds to cover the cost of school activities in July, please refer to the SSB online system and allocate the funds to school activities before 30 June 2025.
To learn more about the SSB online system, watch this School Saving Bonus video.
The Department of Education’s SSB contact centre will remain available until 30 June 2025. The contact centre can be reached by:
- completing the School Saving Bonus enquiry form
- calling 1800 338 663, between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm on weekdays.
The 2025 Camps, Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF) is now open for families to apply for. Applications can be found online on the Department of Education’s website and require a valid Health Care Card to be eligible for payment. The 2025 funding amount is $256 per student. The fund can be used for the following:
· Camps
· Sporting events
· Excursions
CSEF cannot be used for school fees or extra-curricular programs such as Music, Volleyball, Duke of Edinburgh or formals.
Please note, families who have a valid Health Care Card and have received funding before through the school do not need to re-submit a form at the beginning of each year. However, if you are new to the school, your funding does not rollover from your previous school, and you will need to submit a new application.
If you wish to apply, please either drop off a hard copy of your application to the front office or email it to info@nhs.vic.edu.au and we will submit it on your behalf.
NHS Empower Fund: Helping Students in need
The cost of essential school items can affect some families more than others. We want to make sure that all students are able to participate equally at school and are not disadvantaged in any way. If you are feeling stressed about how you will afford new uniforms, books or upcoming trips, we want you to know you can get it touch with us for help. We are very friendly and respecting your privacy is important to us. The thrive fund is created to make sure everyone in our community thrives.
