House News

Dear Parents and Carers,

We’re well into an exciting and eventful term 2 here at Hampton Park Secondary College, and we’re pleased to share some highlights and reminders with you.

Our students are currently completing the annual Attitudes to School Survey (ATOSS). This important survey gives students a platform to share their experiences and perspectives about school life. The information collected helps us identify strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring we continue to support student voice and build a school environment where every student feels valued and engaged.

Recently, our whole school came together for the Cross Country Carnival — a day full of energy, house spirit, and fantastic effort from all who participated. Congratulations to Walton House for finishing third and a big well done to all students who got involved. We’d also like to acknowledge the wonderful students involved in this year’s school production. Your commitment and talent have not gone unnoticed, and we’re all looking forward to seeing your performances in the coming weeks!

This term, we’ve launched Domain Weeks — a fun and engaging way to celebrate learning across different subject areas. So far, students have participated in Health and PE sessions, including the always-popular staff vs student volleyball match, as well as a Maths scavenger hunt. In the coming weeks, we’ll turn our focus to Careers, Humanities, Science, and English. We encourage all students to take part in these enriching activities.

A huge congratulations to all of our Soccer Academy students — every team has qualified for the Australasian Championships in Brisbane! This is a fantastic achievement, and we are proud of the hard work and dedication shown by each of these students.

A reminder about the importance of attendance: consistent school attendance is essential for student success. Students will be bringing home a record of any unapproved absences. These need to be signed by a parent or carer and must include a valid reason for the absence. Any future absences should be supported by a medical explanation. Please help us support your child’s learning by ensuring they are at school every day, unless genuinely unwell.

Finally, we would like to welcome Niamh Clarke to the Junior SEL role! Niamh will be supporting our students in Year 7 – 9 for a number of weeks, as Mr. Hare heads off on some family leave for his new baby. Congratulations Niamh and Aaron!

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Please reach out to a member of the team with any concerns or questions.
