In June 2025, Victoria Police is conducting a Community Sentiment Survey.  Vic Pol are inviting

Victorians to complete the short survey to tell them:

• Their key safety concerns

• How they would like to interact with police

• Where we can focus our efforts to prevent and deter crime

Responses will help inform and improve initiatives Victoria Police delivers to keep the community safer.

Bridging Now to Next

On 27 May – 3 June, Australia celebrates National Reconciliation Week 2025. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey – the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.

This year’s theme Bridging Now to Nextreflects on the ongoing connection between past, present and future. It is a call to all Australians to step forward together whilst holding onto the lessons the past has taught us.

This National Reconciliation Week, WHISE encourages colleagues, community, and partners to learn more about our shared histories, cultures and achievements. There are many events happening across the region that you can participate in. Check them out:

National Reconciliation Week 27 May – 3 June

This National Reconciliation Week we’re getting off the couch and joining RunRona to raise funds for health promotion in Aboriginal communities.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for everyone to learn about Australia’s shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

Since the early days of the reconciliation movement, a lot has happened, including greater recognition of rights for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, an understanding of the impact of government policies, and an embracing of Indigenous success and contribution.

There is still a lot to be done and everyone can play a role in continuing this journey to reconciliation through building relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s NRW theme is ‘in this together’. And it couldn’t be timelier. It reminds us that whether we are in crisis or reconciliation, we are all #InThisTogether.

What’s RunRona?

RunRona is a virtual run, or walk, during National Reconciliation Week organised by Aboriginal owned and led label Clothing The Gap.

On 30 and 31 May, hundreds of people and families around the country will head out to their local streets to run or walk in support of the event.

100% of profits from the virtual event will support the work of Spark Health in preventing the onset of chronic disease in the Aboriginal and Australian population. Spark Health is an Aboriginal owned and led health promotion agency committed to adding years to Aboriginal people’s lives to close the gap.

Together Clothing The Gap and Spark Health are working to make a difference to the rising levels of inactivity, obesity, and ill mental health in their communities. They hope the social connection and physical activity of RunRona will help boost mental and physical health during these difficult times.

The Freaky Friday Pride Formal is a free event for young people in Casey's LGBTIQA+ community and allies.

There will be live music, a DJ, spook-tacular performances, a photobooth, glitter face painting and so much more! Plus, it will be hosted by the one and only Freida Commitment! ✨
