Principal's Report

Dear Families and staff,
It has been a busy and rewarding few weeks at our school, with a strong sense of purpose and pride evident in all corners of our community.
Earlier in the term, our students stopped to commemorate Anzac Day with a whole school stent led assembly. I wish to thank our student leaders for their work during this assembly and for their participation at the local dawn service at Hampton Park. Our student leaders, also participated at the Legacy Anzac Day commemoration at the Shrine of Remembrance. This was followed by a guided tour of the Shrine.
Our students have recently completed NAPLAN and ACER testing, and I commend them for the focused and mature way they approached these assessments. These tools provide valuable insights into student learning progress and help us tailor support where needed to ensure every student continues to grow and thrive.
Meanwhile, rehearsals are in full swing for our school production Bring It On! It’s been inspiring to watch our students demonstrate their talent, teamwork and enthusiasm on stage and behind the scenes. I encourage everyone to come along and support what promises to be an energetic and entertaining show. This year's show will run on Friday 25th July (evening), and Saturday 26th July (matinee and evening). Tickets will be available soon!
Students have also commenced the annual Student Attitudes to School Survey, a valuable opportunity for us to hear directly from them about their experiences. While there are many things we can be proud of at our school — from academic achievement and inclusive culture to student leadership and engagement — we are committed to listening, learning and continuously improving.
Our Soccer Academy continues to kick goals, with several students recently achieving outstanding success and being invited to represent the school at an interstate Futsal competition. This recognition reflects the dedication of both our students and coaches, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements.
Another highlight has been our VCE-VM students delivering a student-led Careers Expo at Hampton Park Primary School. I had the pleasure of receiving glowing feedback from staff and families about the professionalism, knowledge and leadership displayed by our students. Events like this show the powerful role our young people play in inspiring and guiding others in our community.
A key ingredient to success in all areas of school life is student attendance. We ask all families to support us in ensuring that students attend school every day unless unwell. Attendance everyday matters — not just for academic learning, but also for social development, building friendships and maintaining routines.
Wearing our school uniform with pride is another simple but powerful way we build a strong sense of belonging and identity. When students are in uniform, they are more easily recognised, feel connected, and contribute to a safe and inclusive school environment. Let’s continue to wear our colours with pride.
At our college, we are committed to improvement. Extensive consultation about possible Timetable changes for 2026 is underway. We are looking to move to a 5-period day, as this will provide more touch points across the school week. This added connection with the classroom teacher, can assist students with building knowledge and understanding through increased frequency. More details about the timetable changes, length of lessons and length of the school day, will be announced soon.
Thank you for your ongoing support in making our school a great place to learn and grow. Together, we continue to build a community where every student feels safe, connected and challenged to achieve their best.
Regards
Wayne Haworth
