This week I popped into Simon Peck's VCE Business Management class, they were looking at definitions for key terms and relating them to prior knowledge. It was great to see Mr Peck posing questions and using diagrams to help prompt their recall of previous knowledge. When I visited Meaghan King's Year 10 Science class, I thought I'd walked into a philosophy class. The question being posed was, 'What is time?' It was actually physics and students were defining terms; time was one of these terms and students came up with the definition of 'how long something takes.'
Wasn't it the perfect day for the Cross Country, the sun was out, but not too much. It was lovely to see St Joseph's joining us for the Cross County. Congratulations to our age winners and well done to all for your participation.
Over the last week I have meet with a number of staff to get to know them and learn about programs within the school and their roles. I'd like to mention Hayden McKinnon and Jess Leigh who have updated me with their progress for the OHS audit in August, they are working hard and on track to have us well prepared for the audit day. Liz Riley and I have met with members of the SASH (School Administration and Support Hub) who will complete many of the needed jobs during Di Mulquiny's leave.
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held Wednesday 14th May; I look forward to the opportunity to meet those of you who attend on the night.
This Friday, we will be hosting our Mother's Day Fete, please note this years fete is NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
