Spanish club for students
Monday 3:45 to 4:45
All students are welcome.
We’re thrilled to announce that the Spanish Club is back this term!
After the success of last term, we’re excited to welcome students once again to this engaging program, led by our amazing parent volunteers. The Spanish Club offers all Newlands students a fun and interactive way to improve their Spanish speaking and listening skills. Through dynamic workshops, students can practice the language in a friendly, supportive environment – and parents are welcome to join in too!
In our last Term 1 session, the Spanish Club hosted a workshop on electrical circuits. It was a fun and hands-on day where children, together with their parents, learned about the components of a basic circuit. They created animal figures, a rainbow, and a cute mermaid using LEDs, batteries, wires, Play-Doh, and modelling clay.
The first session will take place this Monday, May 5th. Alberto and Elkin will lead a dynamic workshop exploring the life and legacy of Violeta Parra, the iconic Chilean singer and artist. Students will also have the opportunity to learn traditional wool knitting techniques and discover the fascinating process of natural wool dyeing.
We warmly invited all Newlands students to participate in this wonderful opportunity to further develop their Spanish skills while enjoying a meaningful and engaging experiences.
