Colour Explosion School Run
Friday 23rd May
The Colour Explosion School Run 4 Fun was so much fun last year that we are doing it all
again!
There is still lots of time to get donations to raise funds to contribute to renovating the BBlock for 2026 classrooms.
Thanks to everyone who has been collecting donations; we are off to a great start with over $2,000 raised so far. Can we beat last years epic effort? We hope so, our target is $40,000
THE BASICS
WHAT: Colour Explosion School Fun Run Fundraiser
WHEN: Friday 23 May 2pm – 3pm
WHERE: School Oval assembling near the blue shed
WHY: A fun event where kids can ask for sponsorship opportunities to run around and get colourful.
Funds will be used for renovating the B Block classrooms in the quadrangle ready for our extra 5/6 classes in 2026.
THE NITTY GRITTY
We are having a ‘colour run’ at school on Friday 23 May. Kids will navigate an obstacle course in class groups and get showered with a beautiful rainbow of non-toxic coloured powders. We ask that kids wear a white (or pale-coloured) t-shirt/long-sleeved top. Kids will receive a pair of protective sunnies and a headband. Families are invited to come and cheer on their kids.
The purpose of this event is to ask for sponsorship from friends and families to help supplement the school’s budget for some needed works for our growing student population.
We are using an external fundraising group (Australian Fundraising) to help us to reduce the labour required for the PFA (teeny group of hardworking parents) and potentially maximise the money we can raise by reaching a broader group of sponsors. There are only so many opportunities for a sausage sizzle each year.
The fundraising is done ONLINE ONLY, so families need to register and create an online profile. You will need to create a new profile even if you had one last year, as they do not hold on to the data long term. https://myprofilepage.com.au
Your child might have come home with a bright booklet that shows that kids can receive prizes for meeting their target fundraising goals. BUT if offering physical rewards doesn’talign with your values you can opt to donate your ‘rewards’ to The Great Barrier Reef Foundation (coral planting or turtle protection), Carbon Neutral (tree planting), OzHarvest(providing meals to those in need ), The Smith Family (reading support) or Dolly’s Dream(end bullying in schools).
Please know monetary targets can be modest. We understand that many families are very stretched at the moment. Prizes will be distributed discreetly so kids don’t feel disappointed. All kids are invited to join the fun, even if they don’t engage in the fundraising.

FAQs
What does my child need to wear?
All children must wear a white t-shirt, which they can wear to school from the start of the day, they can wear normal uniform pants or their own choice. All children will be given a pair of rainbow sunglasses and a headband to keep. You may want to pack some spare clothes in case they want to get changed after the colour run. Sneakers or running shoes would be best.
Will the colour stain the t-shirts and other clothes?
The colour should wash out easily after one wash but it may take more than one wash and it is recommended to wash items separately. We do not recommend wearing a favourite or sentimental shirt. Also, shoes should not be permanently stained, but also probably best not to wear brand-new white sneakers.*
There is a statement that came with the colour bottles that says people with blonde hair may want to protect/cover their hair. A hat might be advisable for students with light hair.
Can I contribute to the fundraiser without using the Australian Fundraising platform?
Yes! You can donate any time at the School Office
What is slime time?
All students who have raised $20 or more will go into the draw to slime a teacher! This will involve tipping a bucket of slime over a teacher’s head.
*Pending teacher volunteers.
What is the colour powder made from?
It is 98% corn starch and 2 % food colouring
My child did not participate in the fundraiser, can they still do the colour run?
Yes, all NPS students will be participating in the colour run.
Can parents and carers come and watch?
Yes, everyone is welcome to come and watch and cheer the kids on. We also need some helpers on the day. A signup sheet will be circulated soon.
When can students choose their prizes?
From May 24 th to May 31 st, students can go to their online profile to select their prizes. Prizes will then be delivered to school and sorted. Instructions for the collection of prizes will follow.
