Swimming Lessons

A big thank you to the parents who have offered to help the teachers with the swimming program. Please remember that we do need you to walk with the students to and from the pool. We still have weeks where we have no parent helpers, so if you have some spare time available can you please contact your child’s classroom teacher. We are very grateful for everyone’s support with our swimming program.

The lessons take place at Heather’s Swim School in Main Street, Elliminyt. A big thank you to the parents/guardians who have offered to help, please make sure you are at school 20 minutes before the scheduled lessons. If our office staff do not have a copy of your ‘Working With Children’s Check,’ can you please email a copy to the school via email on office@shcolac.catholic.edu.au

Colac Division Cross Country

Congratulations to the students who competed in the Colac Division Cross Country last Thursday at the Colac Golf Club. It was great to see everyone trying so hard on the very difficult course. Congratulations to the following students who have qualified for the Greater Western Cross Country: Patrick Lehmann, Rory Dent, Jaymi Baker, Louis Foley, Cabe Shaw, Mia Borch, Betsy Riches, Georgia Desmond, Thor Medley, Benji Dent, Jock Melville, Phoebe Robb, Zoe Medley and Lily Simon.

The Greater Western Cross Country will take place on Monday 26th May in Warrnambool. More information will be sent home via PAM.

Sacred Heart Cross Country

Well done to all Sacred Heart students for participating in their class Cross Country. The weather has been perfect for this event (unfortunately one class did get caught in rain that was not expected). The results for each class are as follows:

Colac Division AFL Play

On Friday 30th May, our boys will be involved in the AFL Play Lightning Premiership at Colac Central Reserve. We will be sending three teams to this event. Each team consists of 12 players. All students who have trialled will play on the day. AFL Play will be the new format of football (SSV no longer accepts teams of 15-18 players). With this new format, we need parents to assist with coaching on the day and we also need secondary students to assist with the umpiring.  If you can help out on the day or have a teenager in Year 8 or 9 who is willing to umpire on this day, can you please indicate on the PAM document that will be sent out at the end of the week. Thanks in advance for your help.

Colac Division Netball Lightening Premiership

The Netball Lightning Premiership will also take place on Friday 30th May at the Eastern Reserve. We are still having trials at school for this event. The Year 5 girls will trial Thursday during their lunch time and the Year 6 girls will trial on Friday during their lunch hour. A big thank you to Sally Montano for her help with the trials. Girls who are trialling are reminded to please wear their sports uniform on this day.
