Quite a few of our students have been out of the school over the past week.
Sam, Rosie, Isaac, Marley, Charlie, Erin and Stella all attended the North Central District Cross Country last Friday. All these students qualified for the Loddon Mallee Region Cross Country Event, which is a simply amazing result. Big congratulations to Rosie who finished 3rd, Sam who finished 5th and Isaac who finished 11th each in the Junior division, and also to Stella who finished 13th in the Intermediate division. When they compete at the next level they will run in their Year level. Great job to all involved for representing the school in such a great manner.
Year 9 students attended the Buloke Youth Health Expo yesterday in Birchip. Topics covered on the day included nutrition, mental health, and CPR.
On Monday, Erin Blair and Stella Nicolson were part of the College’s Intermediate girl’s badminton team that competed at Loddon Mallee Region Badminton. Well done girls on representing the school in a positive light.
Today Year 9 will attend the second of their Broader Horizon’s sessions by visiting Foley’s Hill and Wright Building. A big thank you to the NCLLEN and both the McGurks and Danny for making this possible.
Next week students will partake in the Student Attitude to School Survey. It is important that we gain student voice into their experiences at school. We hope that students undertake this survey responsibly, as the results are used to improve programs and facilities in and around the school.
Weekly Wrap Year 9:
Year 9 English:
Year 9’s are still working on their novel study, “The Road to Winter” by Mark Smith. We’ve been listening to the audiobook as we read along, which helps students expand their vocabulary and comprehension. We are about half way through!
Year 9 Advisory:
In Year 9 Advisory this morning we did a team activity called Plank Walking - see photo attached.
Year 9 Food Technology:
The Year 9’s have been looking at technology in the kitchen and have been using the Thermomix. Last week the cooked Chicken and Cashew Stir Fry and this week they made Apricot Chicken Risotto which was given a big thumbs up!
