Acting Principal

Kristen Le Gassick

Over the last few weeks, I’ve seen the School Wide Positive Behaviour Tree grow stronger, with more leaves sprouting. This shows that our students are continuing to be recognised for demonstrating the values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience.

Last week ended on a high! The energy and enthusiasm our primary students brought to the Dance performance was absolutely fantastic. I was genuinely impressed with how quickly they picked up the dances in such a short time. It was a real joy to see them inviting adults to join in and do the Chicken Dance at the end.

This time of year brings with it a number of assessment tasks for our students, and for some, it can be a stressful period. It’s a great opportunity to check in with them and see how they’re going. A few things to consider: Do they have a quiet space to study when needed? Is it time for their favourite home-cooked meal? Are they staying hydrated, or perhaps could a study timetable help balance homework, work, and social life? Just as we’re all different, so too are the needs of our young people during this busy time.

Student Attitude to School Survey

We value student voice as a means to improving student engagement, wellbeing, and quality instruction, and are conducting a survey to find out what your child thinks of our school. The Attitudes to School Survey is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Education and Training to assist schools in gaining an understanding of students' perceptions and experience of school. Our school will use the survey results to plan programs and activities to improve your child's schooling experience.

This year the Attitudes to School survey will be conducted at our school over the period Monday 26 May to Friday 6th June. Students in years 4 to 12 will undertake the survey.

The survey only takes around 20 minutes to complete and occurs during your child's class time. All survey data that is made available in reports are for groups of students only so that no individual student can be identified. Please refer to Compass or contact Kim Fitzpatrick at the College for further details.
