A message from the Principal Team

Dear ACS community,

Welcome back to ACS for Term 2.

We have started the term very well, with a number of happy faces and some great learning data growth that has captured the beautiful partnership between families, teachers and students.

This term we continue to grow in size and resource, allowing us to provide comprehensive programs across the school. This week we commence an ACS Engage Play program across the entire school at recess and lunch, available for all students everyday. This involves an addition of 20 ES staff across the yard setting up play activities for students to access at anytime. This includes (but not limited to) skipping, basketball, downball, soccer, football, as well as additional supervision in Foundation play yard and high impact areas. Staff are easily identified by a coloured vest. To combine with this the indoor clubs continue and the Performing Arts team have provided some additional extras. We are passionate about independent play but know the presence of an adult to play with students, helps with build the overall impact of peer interaction.

You will know by now that we have two new schools opening up in 2026, located within ACS catchment. We are aware that some existing families may be seeking enrolment at these schools due to being in their enrolment catchment. We encourage those of you who are looking to move into these schools to make direct contact with those schools or flag with our administration team so we can support this transition and plan for 2026. If you have questions please reach out to wonderful Lexi in the office.

Nala's first day , Our New Wellbeing Dog!

The ACS community was buzzing with excitement as we welcomed a very special new member to our team at the end of last Term - Nala, our Wellbeing Dog! From the moment she set paw on campus, Nala was greeted with smiles, cuddles, and plenty of pats from students and staff alike.

Nala’s calm and gentle presence brought an immediate sense of comfort and joy to everyone she met. Our school community and students were commended on understanding the 3 expectations:

  1. Don't say Nala's name
  2. Don't crowd around and stare
  3. We move forward.

We’re so proud to introduce Nala as part of our wellbeing program. Studies have shown that having a wellbeing dog in schools can reduce stress, promote positive interactions, and create a soothing atmosphere for students who may be feeling anxious or overwhelmed. Nala is already proving to be a wonderful companion for our students and staff.

We look forward to seeing the many ways Nala will make a positive impact on our community. Make sure to keep an eye out for her around campus.

Welcome to the ACS family, Nala!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
