1/2DS.. off to a Flying Start!

This term we are learning about Continents, Countries and Maps! We are learning about different kinds of maps and how they can help us. We are also learning about map directions, the names of the continents and oceans, and about the states, territories and capital cities of Australia. Check out some of the different maps of Australia we have been working on.

As well as thinking about and celebrating our own mothers last week, we also focused on Mary, the mother of Jesus. Mary loved and cared for Jesus just as our mothers do for us. See our Mary pictures below.

We are just starting our next Maths unit about measuring length. We began by comparing the length of objects, using ‘longer than’, ‘shorter than’ and ‘same as’ to make statements of comparison. We worked together to find classroom objects to compare.

We're excited to keep learning throughout Term 2!
