5/6 Interschool Sport Gala Days

Our Year 5/6 students competed in their 2 Summer sport Gala Days over the past 2 weeks. We had 5 Volleyball teams, 3 Teeball teams, 2 T20 Cricket teams and a Hot Shots tennis team playing against the other schools in our District. Here are some recounts written by our students and Staff:
🏐 Volleyball Summer Gala Day Success! 🏐
What an incredible day for our volleyball teams at our final Summer Gala Day! In an unprecedented achievement, three of our teams made it to the finals—a testament to their hard work, teamwork and dedication.
Our Boys' team battled fiercely to secure 3rd place, while our two Girls' teams showcased their skill and spirit, finishing in 3rd and 5th place respectively. This remarkable outcome is a proud moment for our school and a huge step forward for our volleyball program.
Congratulations to all the players and coaches for their commitment and sportsmanship. You’ve set the bar high for future seasons!
🏆 Go Team! 🎉
Teeballers just miss out
Our 3 teeball teams had a very successful 2 weeks - with 2 of our teams just missing out on progressing to Division. Our girls team, coached by the amazing mum Cristy only lost 1 game! And unfortunately this 1 loss meant they finished 2nd in their competition.
Our A boys team finished 3rd in their competition and again meant they just missed out on playing in the Grand Final. They won 5 games and improved as the competition progressed. Our B boys team finished 5th with a total of 4 wins - again they improved dramatically throughout the 2 Gala Days. Thanks so much to Cristy who coached and umpired our girls team to an amazing result, and our other teachers and staff who coached and umpired our Teeball teams.
T20 Cricketers had a BLAST!
At Gala day cricket we had a great time, it was a blast of fun! All of us were hitting so many 4s, 6s, 8s and 12s and had some crazy luck in most of the games. Also we had some astonishing balls and wickets. We had lots of teamwork and everyone participated which was wonderful to see. It was really competitive and the A team won four out of nine games, and got placed 6th place on the ladder. Unfortunately, the B team didn't win any games but at least they tried their best. After all of the losses and wins we did a great job at the end and are really proud of ourselves. We are sure all parents would be happy with the progress we have shown because we fought hard and did as much as we could.

Hot Shot Tennis
Gala day was held the past two Friday´s and is a day where we play interschool sports, competing against other schools. At tennis we were split up into 2 teams being ranked by 1 to 10 based on our skill and experience. We all played in both single matches (1v1) and doubles matches (2v2.) We competed against the schools in our area such as, St Justin's, Mulgrave Primary, St Leonard's, Brandon Park and more. We learnt the meaning of teamwork and being respectful to others even if we didn't win all the time. We enjoyed playing because we could socialize more and have fun with our friends. The day was highly enjoyable. We wish we could have played more games with our teammates because we were all having a fun and fantastic time.
