District Cross Country

Our District Cross Country team had its most successful day ever!
50 students in grades 3 to 6 represented SJV at the Wellington District Cross Country event held at Norton's Park. In our District of 8 schools, we finished 3rd overall in the team points trophy, and have the most students ever qualified to run at the Monash Waverley Division event in 2 weeks time. Our students ran the 3km and 2km course amongst 70 - 80 other competitors, and many of our students placed in the top 25 of their race which gained points for the overall trophy. Finishing in the top 12 of their race means they have now qualified for the Division event. Congratulations to all our students who ran today - showing great determination, resilience and stamina to all complete their race.
The following students will now represent SJV again to compete at Division Cross Country on Wednesday 28th May: Nickolas K, Nicholas P, Hayden N, Mason P, Georgia B, Rasha A, Olivia O, Jasmine Z, Kester E, Hannah C and Mackenzie W. Congratulations and good luck for Division!
Big thank you to our parents who came along to watch, support, cheer and help out on the course as Marshals for this event! Your help is greatly appreciated! Our students would not be able to attend if not for our amazing parents and of course our wonderful SJV staff who also were there supporting our students.
