Principal's Message

The Wonderful Beryl Hulme

This week Beryl Hulme made a huge donation of more than 100 handmade Mother's Day Gifts to our school for the Mother's Day Stall. Beryl is 84 years old and has been making these donations her whole life! Having recently moved to Coffs we are the lucky ones who have benefited from her generosity. Due to health reasons this is the last year that Beryl will do this work. On behalf of the Boambee Public School community - thank you Beryl! You are amazing!

Mother's Day Breakfast

ANZAC Day

I would like to express my appreciation and pride to our incredible students, dedicated staff, and supportive parents for the outstanding turnout at the ANZAC Day March last Friday - despite the rain.

Each year I try to find out some more about the service history of our local community. This year's special story came from Layla Morley's family and the roles they played in the ANZAC history during World War II.

Layla proudly wore the medals of her Great Grandfather Walter Montague Morley (Monty) who served in the RAAF and fought for our country in Milne Bay, Papua New Guinea.

Layla's family heritage originates from Papua New Guinea where her Great Grandfather, Siviri, was one of the 'Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels'.  He selflessly supported the Australian Soldiers on the Kokoda Track.  Siviri carried supplies to the soldiers and bravely carried the wounded down the harsh terrains of the Kokoda track.

Thank you to the Morley family for sharing this information, you must be very proud of your family history. We are proud to have you as part of the Boambee Public School community.

PBL Draw

At the end of every term, we have a huge Nunguu Draw to celebrate the thousands of positive moments during the term. Students are recognised for exhibiting the school values throughout the term. It pays to be at school for the last day of term - if you aren't here you can't win!

PBL Lesson - Bus Behaviour

As previously communicated, our current (Positive Behaviour for Learning) PBL lesson in Weeks 1 and 2 will be focused on Bus Behaviour. This lesson will be based around the NSW Transport Code of Conduct for students.
