Year 11 Student Manager's Report

Every day matters

"Resilience is not about never falling, but about rising every time we do."

As we approach the critical weeks of Term 2 – with exams in Weeks 10 and 11, it is essential that all Year 11 students maintain a strong, consistent working regime while also taking care of their well-being.

Balancing study and self-care is key to long-term success. If you are feeling overwhelmed or need support managing your time or workload, please reach out to the Student Management team — we are here to help.

By this point in the year, you are well aware of the expectations at Homestead Senior Secondary College. These standards reflect our shared commitment to high achievement, respect, and personal responsibility. It is crucial that all students continue to meet these expectations in both conduct and learning.

A reminder from our recent snap assembly: authentication breaches are taken seriously. As HSSC mirrors VCAA examination and assessment policies, there is no room for negotiation. You must adhere to all assessment conditions, including following instructions given by your supervisor or teacher during assessments.Full VCAA rules and expectations can be found here:🔗VCAA Examination Rules

Any breach of these conditions — such as bringing unauthorised materials, not following instructions, or submitting work that is not your own — will be treated as a serious offence. Integrity is not just a school requirement — it’s an essential part of who you are as a learner.

Uniform expectations remain in place: all students must be in full academic uniform at all times. PE uniform may only be worn during PE and recess, and you must change back into academic attire afterwards.

Be punctual — school begins at 8:45 AM sharp. This time is important for organising materials, reviewing your schedule, and preparing for Sessions 1 and 2. Punctuality builds strong habits that will carry into Year 12 and beyond.

Tips for success in the lead-up to exams:

  • Check in with your teachers for your S-checklist and ensure all coursework is up to date.
  • Attend Homework Club every Thursday after school — open to all students for extra support, revision, or a quiet place to complete work.

Let’s finish Term 2 with focus, integrity, and resilience. The effort you put in now will lay the foundation for your future success.

You've got this. We’re here to help.
