In Term 2, 24 students from Grades 4 - 6  created games for the Australian STEM Video Game Competition. The students worked in teams of four, each with a specific role: artist, coder, musician, or story writer. They had to create a game on Scratch that followed the theme of construction and deconstruction.

All students learned new skills and created engaging games and design documents. As required by the competition, each team completed a Game Design Document (GDD) that documented how their game worked and how they created it. All members worked extremely hard and showed resilience in overcoming challenges.

Last week we received feedback and scores about our 6 teams. The feedback was positive and all teams made it to the second round.

With the school holidays fast approaching it is important to set up the right routines regarding technology use at home. Technology is an important part of our student’s lives and is a way they will communicate with their friends over the long break from school.
