Miss Kim Taggart

Yaama,

In Week 5 the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Year 4 and 5 were lucky enough to participate in a Gamilaraay Language workshop facilitated by Jekoya Nash and Kelly O'Gorman. Students practiced the traditional language of this area and how to say an Acknowledgment of Country. These students will be practicing this in their Cultural Groups for the rest of the term.

All the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students are continuing on their Aboriginal art journey. Once they have completed their artwork, they will be hung in our cultural space until the end of the year.

Wii Gaay 2023

Today, Kaylee Bray and Miss Taggart are off to the second Wii Gaay Learning Hub. This learning Hub will be based out at Lake Keepit. Throughout the week Kaylee will be involved in many cultural experiences such as possum skin art, weaving, dreaming stories with Uncle Len Waters and many more. This will be a jammed packed week for Kaylee and Miss Taggart so keep an eye out for the photos from camp in the upcoming newsletter.
