It's fantastic to hear about the diverse range of educational activities that have taken place in recent weeks for different year levels at Great Ryrie. The visits to the MCG, Melbourne Museum, and the Railroad Crossing Works in Ringwood have provided invaluable experiences for the students at various stages of their education.

Engaging students in different settings and experiences, whether it's exploring the rich history and culture at the museum, witnessing sports and stadium environments at the MCG, or having hands-on interactions with builders in a practical setting, fosters a deeper understanding of various fields and industries.

This hands-on approach to education is highly beneficial, as it allows students to connect their classroom learning to the real world, broadening their knowledge and offering a practical understanding of different aspects of life. These experiences contribute significantly to their overall development and understanding of the world around them.

Community Helpers

The Foundation team has been conducting investigations into significant figures within the community. It's wonderful that Inspector Dale was available to discuss the crucial role of the police and their responsibilities. The children in Foundation were thrilled to engage in conversation with Inspector Dale and have the opportunity to see a police car up close.

The lights were flashing and of course the siren was sounding  which captured the attention of everyone.

Encouraging such interactions and insights can greatly benefit young minds by fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the various roles individuals play in our community.

Cyber Safety Parent Session - Save the Date - Tuesday 28th November at 6pm

Equipping children with the tools to remain safe while online is crucial for this generation, and we have organised an opportunity for our teachers and our families to attend a ThinkUKnow presentation.

The parent presentation will be held online on Tuesday 28th November at 6pm.

ThinkUKnow Australia is an evidence-based education program delivered nationally to prevent online child exploitation. The presentation will be delivered by a local law enforcement member and an industry volunteer. The presentation is pro-technology and addresses topics including self-generated child abuse material, online grooming and importantly encourages help seeking behaviour.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to learn more about young people and the online environment, and how you can help them to be safe and responsible users of technology. For more information, you can visit www.thinkuknow.org.au

More details to come.

Just a reminder it is a long weekend for families. The teachers will be at school preparing, school reports for the end of the year. Please remember to contact Team Kids if you require supervision on Monday.

Good luck with the Cup Sweeps and enjoy the sunshine
