Wellbeing

This week, there has been great excitement about secret buddies! Every student has been given the opportunity to do Random Acts of Kindness (RAK’s) to another student at the school. I have been most impressed with the student’s efforts - flowers have been made, cards have been secretly delivered into locker areas and letters with clues have been given. Some students have asked their secret buddy to play with them, while other students have complimented their buddies. This has been a great exercise in filling someone else’s bucket as well as having your own filled.

The year Prep – 1 students have been discussing people who make them feel safe at school and in the community. We made a list of people who we could ask for help if we felt unsafe. The students are working towards identifying 6 people from home, school or in the community, they would go to if they required assistance.

The Year 2-6 students enjoyed sharing some Wellbeing time together this week. The students loved playing a whole class game with a challenging on making our friends laugh! The game took courage to walk up to another classmate and recite a funny line, and it was lovely to see everyone’s confidence growing as they played. This game was a class favourite with all students unable to keep a straight face!

The focus for Wellbeing this week was on what makes a good friend. Students pretended to make a friend cake by adding into the mixture statements that would make a good friend.
