Year 10s Combating the Climate Crisis

During the first week of Term 4, students from the Year 10 Combating the Climate Crisis class visited CERES Environmental Park in Brunswick. We began the day with a tour of the park, learning about the various methods used to save water and power. After wandering through the man-made wetlands, organic farms, and native gardens, we had a quick break.

After the break, we all walked back to the wetlands to complete some surveys on the quality, providing insight into the fantastic world that we live in while also having fun. Doing intriguing work regarding the biodiversity and liveability of different aquatic environments. In the second to last activity, we participated in a food web simulation, investigating the domino effect and impacts about the aforementioned activity.

CERES Environmental Park provided the students from the Year 10 Combating the Climate Crisis class with an insightful yet also fascinating deviation from the academics of the classroom. One which enhanced our understanding of the world that we live in.
