Gatsby Night
A wonderful night was had by all at our annual BRPS Parent/Carer/Staff Night. The location was absolutely stunning and the sunset was incredible. As the first ever event held at the Mentone Lifesaving Club the venue was brilliant and enhanced by the gorgeous decorations and when everyone came into the room with their Gatsby themed-costumes the celebratory vibe was well and truly present.
A huge thanks to all the wonderful BRPS community that played a role in making the night such a memorable one; from those that purchased tickets, to those that pounded the pavement - getting donations in a time when lots of people and businesses are feeling the pinch. A huge thanks to Karen Young for coordinating and organising the event and to Laura Anderson for being Karen's right-hand woman. Christmas Carols @ BRPS - December 18th, 3:45 pm
We are looking forward to holding our annual Christmas Carols on Monday 18th December. Mr Halford is enjoying teaching the Christmas songs to the students. Each year level will perform their Christmas song and the BRPS community are invited to come a long and celebrate the school year coming to an end and helping to share in the Christmas spirit.
We will also be drawing a raffle for some amazing hampers and finishing auctioning our stunning collaborative art works. (Further details to follow.)
Interschool Snowsports
Back in August, Emily (Year 3) competed for Black Rock Primary School at the Interschool Snowsports at Mt Buller. Despite the limited snow on the mountain, Emily had a great time competing in both the Alpine Giant Slalom and Ski Cross events. She also loved holding the school sign and representing BRPS at the Opening Ceremony and Fireworks event on the Monday night. Next year, we would love to see the BRPS snowsports team grow!
If you are interested in participating in the 2024 Interschool Snowsports, here is some useful information:
Dates: Monday 19th-Wednesday 21st August 2024 (actual days required dependent on events entered) *book accommodation ASAP!
There is also a separate Cross Country ski event on 4 August 2024 at Mt Buller.
Age: Open to all students from Foundation through to Year 6

Clash of the Courts - Sunday 19th November
All members of the BRPS Community are invited to head down on Sunday to cheer on the BRPS Mums in their first time competing in the Clash of the Courts. First pass will be at 2 pm. Food and drinks will be available and there will be family-friendly activities on offer.
Camping Weekend as Organised by the Black Rock Blokes
Congratulations to the Black Rock Blokes on organising yet again another successful camping weekend. From all reports it was a fantastic weekend and lots of wonderful memories were made by the 40 dads and 70 BRPS kids that attended.
