OSHC at Marion
At Marion OSHC we are committed to providing quality learning opportunities, delivered in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.
During OSHC this term we will continue focusing on reminders about sustainability eg. recycling and also on the environment.
Our goal for this term is show each other respect.
The December 2023/ January 2024 vacation program is now available in the OSHC room and also on the school website. So far this term in OSHC we have continued the sensory activities with detergent slime and also psyllium slime. The children are really enjoying these activities and the added twist is that one of the children is being picked each week to lead the activity. We have been looking after the veggie garden during after school care sessions and the children enjoy the responsibility of watering the garden with the hose. Other programmed activities include decorating Halloween spooky biscuits, bits and pieces art activities, creative sand pit play, outdoor with nature play on the oval, basketball, creative painting, bounce battle, volleyball, hama beads and also our donated glow in the dark jigsaw and ants in the pants game. I purchased a ten in one game set and I have been teaching the children how to play Chinese checkers. There is also a chess set in these games and many of the children already know how to play and have been having a lot of fun with it. Our home corner has also been very popular with lots of imaginative play.
Parents are welcome to offer suggestions for programming ideas and to participate on our OSHC committee which meets twice a term. Being a member of this committee gives families the opportunity to have even more input into the program and if anyone is interested in becoming involved please come and talk to Guy or myself.
Most families are entitled to Child Care Subsidy so please apply to Centrelink to see if you are eligible. Subsidy is applied to all fees including the additional ones for excursions and Incursions.
