Hello Everyone,
I have had a wonderful start to 2026, attending the intensive Steiner training in Newcastle in January. This has given me a range of resources, insights and inspirations to start the year off with!
In class, we have been working on the first of two mapping units which we cover this year. Students have been visualising familiar places from above then descending to earth to consider four special plants they can observe in the environment around them.
In Week 5 we will be beginning a Main Lesson recapping on math's processes, and we will finish the term with a Main Lesson on significant Dreaming stories which I plan to teach in collaboration with Janine. I am sure we will be able to enjoy some of the special places around Alice even more after all this rain!
I have been so impressed with the new strings books that Liam has put together this year. Please help your child to set up a regular time and place for practise – routine is everything here! A little each day is much better than a big lot every once in a while, (or none at all). Our strings day is Wednesday so remind your child to bring their instrument to school please! We are very fortunate to have an enthusiastic, trained music teacher in our school so let’s make the most of it.
We will also be discussing the Autumn Fair at our upcoming Class Meeting and selecting people for the various roles. I’m looking forward to seeing the Fair for the first time this year – it has an almost legendary status in the community! If you are thinking about contributing to one of the stalls which has a long lead time (think preserves, plants etc.), then an early start is always recommended. It makes the process much more enjoyable if there’s not a huge rush at the end.
Thanks,
Ella
