Class 1 News

What a beautiful beginning we have had in Class One. 

The children have crossed a significant threshold, saying goodbye to their Early Childhood years and stepping into a new and beautiful phase of learning- the Primary School years. It has been such a joy to watch the children enter the classroom with wonder, curiosity and excitement as they gradually find their place and rhythm in this new environment. 

In our Main Lesson we have begun the adventure of discovering the letters of the alphabet. Each letter is introduced through an unfolding story, allowing rich pictures to live in the children’s imagination. The children have enjoyed solving the mystery of the new letter each day, as it gradually emerges through the story and then through art. 

We have been moving letters with our bodies, with sand drawings and practicing careful letter formation in our books. We have been exploring the sounds each letter makes through alliteration riddles and eye-spy. Such a delight! 

It has been heartening for us all to come together as a harmonious group, to see small acts of kindness emerging and the children learning to listen and care for one another.
