Cassia 1 & 2 News

SOPHIE NUGENT, LETETIA POLYCHRONOPOULOS, MAIKA MCGUIRK-HANSON & MOON PARK

What a delight it has been to see the Cassia children enjoying all the fresh life in the garden! The recent rain has really brought the plants to life, and the children have been exploring the new shoots, flowers, and little critters everywhere. It’s such a joy to watch them pause and marvel at the bugs, caterpillars, and other tiny garden visitors, and their curiosity and wonder is truly contagious.

Food continues to be an important part of our day, and the children are loving helping with preparations and enjoying simple, wholesome meals.

A quick reminder for shared fruit:

Please avoid sending blueberries due to allergies and thank you for being so conscientious about leaving nuts at home.

Lunches work best when they are simple, wholesome, and easy to eat, such as sandwiches, wraps, chopped vegetables, and some protein. Please try to keep wrappers and packaging to a minimum and save sweet treats for home.

At the end of this week, we will be concluding our first morning circle together. The children have become very familiar with the songs, verses and movements, and it has been lovely to see their confidence grow as they join in. Next week we will begin a new morning circle, which always brings a fresh sense of interest.

Our Cassia Working Bee, which we had to postpone because of all the beautiful rain, is now on Saturday 28th February from 8:00 to 10:00am.

All other details remain the same. We’ll be spending the morning caring for the gardens and play areas that the children enjoy daily. Even if you can only come for part of the time, your help is very welcome. It is a wonderful way to get to know other families as well as the spaces where the children spend so much of their time playing.

Jobs will include weeding, digging, raking, sanding, oiling, and washing. If you can, please bring shovels, gloves, rakes, or wheelbarrows. It is helpful to name your tools. Cold watermelon will be provided for morning tea.

With warmth,

Sophie - Cassia 1
